Mermaid Spottings Myth or Mystery

Ever wonder about the mystery of mermaids and what a mermaid really looks like? People have told tall tales for years about spotting a beautiful woman in the sea who did not have legs but a giant tail like a fish. Movies have been made about mermaids showing them as being the beauties that inhabitant the seas. Mermaids have been described as mythical creatures that live in water. Some mermaids have been said to be good and other have been said to be bad. Mermaids have also been described as magical creatures who may at times grant a wish or two.

Mermaid sittings have been rumored to be reported in a number of locations. Christopher Columbus has been noted to have told tales of seeing mermaids on his adventures in the area of Haiti. Another explorer reported seeing mermaids around the region of Russia and others have reported seeing mermaids around the coast of Massachusetts in the United States. It has been reported that sailors say mermaids in the East Indies. It seems that mermaids have been reported in just about most of the oceans of the world.

Mermaids for now remain a mystery to humans even though some famous people have told stories of seeing these magical creatures. Mermaids have been referred to as sirens that lure men to drown in the waters with the sound of their beautiful voices. Others believe that mermaids now live in the lost city of Atlantis. Just like the folklores of past times it seems that mermaids will remain a mystery in the hearts of some and a real creature in the eyes of others. Mermaids myth or reality only time will tell.
